2nd - 4th Grade

Coded Summer Camp is a program designed to provide students with hands-on experience with a variety of technologies including: building mobile apps and websites, Virtual Reality, robotics, and computer science basics. Students will focus on the fundamentals of being a developer all while learning code, logic, math, and problem-solving skills. This program also teaches you what VR is, how it works, and how to navigate this new and exciting technology! Each student will receive personalized instruction and collaborate with their peers. This camp builds confidence and creativity all while teaching students to think like a programmer. Come make new friends and learn the languages of the future!

Art Nature's Palette

Week Three

2nd - 4th Grade

  • Shape, pattern, repetition, geometry and form
  • Tile carvings and rock creations for the garden
  • We will make a tile and rock sculpture fully embellished from stones and clay

Summer Writing Boot-Camp with Rhett Tenney

Week Three

6th - 9th Grade, 9:00 am - 11:00 am 

Boot-Camp Objectives

  • Practice writing skills needed for middle school and high school.
  • Develop and practice the interpersonal skills of giving and accepting feedback.
  • Discuss the role of writing in daily life. Students will inculcate daily habits of writing which will both improve style as well as help them live more reflective lives.

More Fun with Fabric and Journey to Crafting

Week Three June 17th - 20th

2nd - 4th Grade

There has been a special request for a second week of “Fun with Fabric” for children second through fourth grade, “Fun with Fabric and Journey through Crafting” has been added to week three. The class fee is $150.00 and includes all materials. Join Amy Royer for an introduction to sewing and crafts. Amy Royer is a faculty member at Salt Lake Community College, she teaches fashion design and sustainable fashion. Play with different techniques throughout the week, including hand sewing techniques and crafting with different items as well as some up-cycled items.

GIRL POWER!!!

Week Three

3rd - 5th Grade

Girl Power summer camp is all about loving yourself and learning new things. Throughout the week, girls will understand the importance of self-care and self-love through small lessons and crafts. Activities will include; life skills, arts and crafts, dance, yoga and mindfulness*, health and fitness. Crafts include- vision boards, mandalas, dream catchers, homemade face masks. This summer camp is all about friendship and fun, and empowerment! Activities will vary based on the week and age group.   

InstructorEmily Ellis is a certified Child Light Yoga and Mindfulness instructor and our P.E. teacher at Cosgriff.

Middle School, Summer Reading and Discussion Groups

Week Three, June 17th - 20th from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon

6th - 8th Grade

Students will read, discuss, analyze and complete summer written assignment for required reading for the 2019 - 2020 school year.

Aeronautics Industry and Design

Week Three

5th - 8th Grade

Students enrolled in the Aeronautics Summer Program will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of the aerospace industry. Students will have the opportunity to design and build lighter than air vehicles. Students will and refine gliders and powered radio controlled airplanes to learn the principles of flight. We will learn to safely operate drones in our airspace and the various applications of drones. Flight simulators will teach students the basics of piloting an aircraft, where we will put to use what we’ve learned about weather, flight planning, and the airport environment.
